English is the key subject in all over the world. To reinvent the education system and give students a pause from traditional classroom learning, there is a dire need to resuscitate the Quiz values in our schools & colleges. This year a team of subject professionals have intended the quiz competition for our students with reference to their curriculum. The objective of this competition is to encourage and promote healthy competition among students, The questions in the Quiz competition will cover a wide range of English topics, including Grammar, tenses, punctuation, part of speech, articles, syntax etc.

 

English quiz competitions play a quintessential role in enhancing linguistic acuity and cognitive dexterity among students. Engaging in such intellectual pursuits necessitates acute attention to detail and the assimilation of complex linguistic constructs, which substantially elevates cognitive functions and enhances critical thinking skills. Moreover, these competitions facilitate a comprehensive understanding of diverse literary genres and historical contexts, enriching students’ cultural literacy. The competitive environment instills resilience and perseverance, encouraging students to attain a superior level of fluency and eloquence, ultimately contributing to their academic and professional success.

 

Art competitions are pivotal in cultivating aesthetic discernment and creative prowess among students. These contests provide a distinguished platform for emerging artists to exhibit their ingenuity, thereby augmenting their cognitive and expressive capabilities. By engaging in such competitions, participants confront complex thematic elements and intricate artistic techniques, which refine their skills and broaden their conceptual horizons. Furthermore, these events stimulate critical analysis and foster a deeper appreciation for diverse artistic forms. Format of English Quiz & Art Competition

Course Outline

Pre-level, KG, Nursery Quiz will be consisted of pictures only. For Example: Fruits, Action words, animals etc. For Grade 1 to 12, the questions in the Quiz competition will cover a wide range of English topics, including Grammar, tenses, punctuation, part of speech, articles, syntax, singular and plural nouns, present, past, future tenses, adjectives, adverbs, possessive nouns, sentence creation, prefixes & suffixes, helping verbs, synonyms & antonyms, direct & indirect speech etc. Quiz competition will be based on MCQs. Students will have to choose correct option from multiple given options. Each question has 5 marks. Quiz competition will consist of 2 rounds. The first round is Drop Out Round and the second is Ultimate/Final Round. The detail of these rounds is given below.

Drop Out Round

  • All the registered students will participate in the drop out round.
  • The participants of this round can choose between Hand Written or Online.
  • There will be 20 questions in the drop out round to be attempted in 30 minutes.
  • Participants scoring below 90% will be eliminated.
  • Marks scored in the drop out round will not be carried forward to the ultimate round.

 

Ultimate/Final Round

  • The winners of drop out round will only be able to attempt the Final/Ultimate round.
  • There will be 30 questions to be attempted in 20 minutes.
  • Ultimate round will be held online only & the winners will be selected on the basis of SCORE & TIME.

Theme : Let Your Imagination Run Wild

What is Imagination: Imagination is the production of sensations, feelings and thoughts informing oneself. These experiences can be re-creations of past experiences, such as vivid memories with imagined changes, or completely invented and possibly fantastic scenes. It is defined as the ability to imagine how things could have turned out differently than they actually did and imagine alternative realities. Or you can create whatever comes in your mind. Great opportunity to pen down your thoughts into reality, let the nation see your creative imagination. Students can explore a wide range of creative ideas. Here are few possibilities:

 

1- Fantasy Words:

Students can create entire worlds that exist only in their imagination—such as magical landscapes, alien planets, or underwater cities.

 

2- Surreal Imagery:

They can draw surreal, dream-like scenes that blend reality with imagination, inspired by artists like Salvador Dalí or René Magritte.

 

3- Mythical Creatures:

Encourage students to invent and draw mythical creatures or hybrid animals that combine elements from different species.

 

4- Abstract Art:

They can use abstract forms and colors to express emotions or concepts that are intangible or difficult to describe in words.

 

5- Future Visions:

Students might draw futuristic technology or scenarios, imagining what life might be like in the future.

 

6- Story Illustrations:

They could illustrate scenes from an original story or narrative they’ve created, bringing their imaginative tales to life visually.

 

7- Whimsical Characters:

Encourage the creation of unique characters with unusual features or personalities, inspired by their own fantasies or stories.

 

8- Reimagined Everyday Objects:

Students can take ordinary objects and reimagine them in fantastic or unconventional ways.

Scoring Criteria

  • DRAWING: (50 points) What precision the participant endeavored to follow the topic.
  • CREATIVITY: (30 points) The creative insights a student can use.
  • DECOR: (20 points) Neatness, uses of medium, presentation method, Etc.

 

Note :

  • This competition is for two-dimensional artwork in any media, e.g., drawings using pencil, crayons, pastels, charcoal or ink; paintings using watercolor, acrylic, or oil; mixed media, collages, etc.
  • Entries may be abstract or realistic, or anything in between. Only your own original artwork should be submitted.
